Pam:And so welcome everyone to our June Reiki share and podcast. Just wanted to start out by letting you know some of the classes that we have coming up at the farm. We've got our whale classes happening, which is exciting. With the whale classes in August, we have a Reiki level one and two class August 9th and 10th, followed by a masterclass and it's on Campobello Island, which is off the coast of Maine. And on the Sunday night after the level one and two class and before the masterclass, we go out whale watching and I knew. One time the whales, actually two humpback whales stopped feeding and just circled the boat to receive the Reiki. And the tour operator said she had never seen that happen before or since. So it doesn't always happen, but we always do have a lovely evening on the bay. So I'd love to have you join us and Campo is amazing to come visit. You want to check out the miles of hiking trails, the beautiful beaches, the everything at the Roosevelt Cottage is free as far as Eleanor's tea and visiting the cottage and the trails. There's beautiful lighthouses and it's just a, it almost feels like going back in time when you get to that island. It just feels so simple and lovely. So if that's a dream of yours, there is still room in the class. The classes are both online and in person. So the Saturday Sunday evening, we go watching can only do that though if you're in person. And then Monday to Wednesday is the masterclass and the following. Weekend, August 16th and 17th is our animal Reiki level one and two training both online and in person. And then an animal Reiki master teacher class is the Monday to Wednesday online and in person at the Bay. And so those are our fantastic classes to attend. I do have a list of places that you can stay. In either Campobello or in Lubeck if you decide to come up and join us in person. And we are, if you can't find a place to stay but really want to attend the class, let me know. We're not certain, but we are hopeful that our Airbnb will be ready by then. And so we will we potentially have four or five rooms available. And then. Folks were asking about healthcare Reiki Tracy and I taught it recently and Lynn was just mentioning she had been in the class and just how much she enjoyed it and how much her life is changing and how it's, it, one of the things about healthcare Reiki is it really does cause you to. Want to look after yourself. And so we just all naturally find we're eating healthier, we're exercising, we're doing all the things that we need to do to be very vibrant and healthy. And so Lynn was just astounded at how much that. We did talk about it in class, but she just couldn't believe how much it does happen. And I noticed the same thing, Lynn. And also just that ability to stay calm in the midst of chaos and the ability to really just allow your schedule to just organize itself so that it works in your favor and all of those things. So I appreciate you bringing it up and if anybody who's listening would like to attend healthcare Reiki, our next class is online, and it will be the evenings of September 15, 16, and 22nd and 23rd. So that's a Monday and Tuesday evening. On the 15th and 16th, and then the following Monday and Tuesday evening from five 30 to 10 Eastern time. And then I'll be teaching online and at the farm in October as well. So would love to have you join us for any of those classes that that work for you and that makes sense to you. So today's topic, we are supposed to talk about embracing the joy of summer and energizing our goals, and I've had that planned for a while, but I was just telling the folks that are here with me in real time that. As I was out just working with my writing students in a lesson and just now earlier I was shown that. There's going to be a slight adjustment and it is along the lines of healthcare Reiki. So we will be, I will be bringing in healthcare Reiki and sharing it with you today in the meditation so that you can get a feel for what that energy feels like. And just to give you a little background, there is a an episode I recorded a while back with Tracy Sullivan. Tracy Sullivan works in. Healthcare field. She was a medic in the middle, in the Air Force. She was also a licensed practical nurse and now she teaches nuclear medicine and she is also was very instrumental in getting the Yale University Hospital Reiki program set up. And she teaches there and trains. Students who then volunteer in the program and we were guided to sit down and begin listening to the energy. It'll be. Let me think. Two years ago in October, so about a year and a half ago, and every Friday morning we meet for a few hours and we listen in the energy. And so a very unique and special energy has come through along with some different techniques and information and symbols and so on, and some of the things that we've noticed about the energy. Or that it's very it really helps us stay grounded and centered and focused and calm, even in the midst of chaos. And and another thing is just the way that it I don't know, it doesn't encourage us, but I. We do notice for those who have studied healthcare Reiki we've taught I guess about 25, 26 people so far. We notice that we just automatically start integrating these healthier habits into our lives. And so that's exciting as well. Although I do wanna talk about the joy of summer and energizing our goals, I think I also want to address the fact that there is some chaos happening in the world right now, and I think we want to, to take a moment to use Reiki and healthcare Reiki specifically to set that aside and make sure that it doesn't get in the way of embracing the joy of summer. And on top of that, some of you are aware that, the last few weeks have been really difficult for us here at the farm. We lost my Heart Horse buddy. Just the day after Mother's Day. So in, in early in mid-May. It was sudden and unexpected and heartbreaking and so I went down to Campobello for a few days to just try to allow my heart to heal. While I was in Campobello, we taught healthcare Reiki and then just eight days. After Buddy passed we got the lady thank, thankfully the lady that was checking in on the horses for us, let us know that Star wasn't doing well. So immediately we called the vet and we had to race home as quickly as you can, race home with a couple of ferry rides from the island. And, when we got here, she looked to be doing a little bit better. So we were really hopeful. But then the next morning she wasn't doing great and the veterinarian and I spent all day with her. We tried everything we could think of, and in the end we weren't successful. We lost her as well. So it was just so much heartbreak that. It's really had me it, it did knock me down. I don't know how people who don't have Reiki, navigate things like that, they were with me almost 19 years since they were a year old and. They basically started my business, my horse business, and they were very present in the as we created animal Reiki for me, at least in my meditations. But some of the other authors would sometimes see my horses as well in the meditations. So it's been a really difficult transition, as you can imagine, and it's. Really had me thinking about impermanence lately and just, purpose and and what's it all for? So I think as we get into this, we're going to address some of those things and really see if we can set the tone to make sure that. We all have the very best summer. Thank you Lynn. Possible. And that's my wish for you, especially in a time when really strange things are happening in the world. And I think we are stepping into a new age for sure. So let's just go ahead and bring our hands together in Gassho for a moment. And just activate any Reiki symbols that you have, and just imagine each symbol flowing through your hands, setting themselves up in your heart, and as it does, it just moves deeper and deeper. Into your soul, into the core of who you are, and each symbol brings with it its own energetic imprint. And so we'll just take a moment to allow each of your symbols to come one at a time through your hands, settling into your heart. And if any of you have ever experienced grief or heartache or loss, or if you've pondered that question of impermanence and if any of those injuries still exist within you. You just allow each of the Reiki energies and frequencies to settle around those injuries, that grief, those traumas, and then just gently begin lifting the injuries out. Our own little Reiki hot air balloons that will return these injuries to source and we can retain the lessons without the injury. So just allowing those energies to lift. And at the same time, I just invite you to bring your own energy. Just imagine or ask it, invite it to come in close to your body so that it just skims your skin. And as it gets in closer and tighter, just feel. Any energy you may have been holding or carrying on behalf of others, just drop away any cords or attachments that aren't healthy for you. Just unhook now and the brothers and sisters of the light and the divine animals and the divine healers from healthcare Reiki, they all escort them into the light. I am just gonna surround you all in the symbols of healthcare Reiki. Now there are four, and they'll only interact with you if you wish to interact with them and just feel yourself settling. I. Releasing any chaos, any limiting beliefs, any thought forms that are not your own, that collective narrative that can be so pervasive, even if it's not grounded in truth. And then just reach inside yourself for your own truth and invite your truth to replace any narratives that had set up within you. From this place of sovereignty, just take a deep breath and you may wish to say to yourself, I am here now. Just grounding yourself deeply into this present moment in time as we're all together supporting each other. I. In love in Reiki in the world. Go ahead and place your hands over your heart and just take your time coming back. And so I'd just like to thank everyone who's here with me and everyone who listens afterward, and I'd just like to invite us to form the intention to align with the light hearted energy I. Summer, even if you're in Australia and you're moving into winter, there's time. There's space in this season in both hemispheres for both play and personal fulfillment. I, but I also want to acknowledge that. There are a number of things happening on the planet these days that may not align with you or with your truth or with your beliefs. And I don't mean the collective narrative. I mean they just may not align with you. There may be things happening, and of course we are very conscious of what's happening on the planet these days with social media and with just all of the information, all of the news that's coming at us all of the time. And there is typically the news is not neutral. Typically, there is a spin on it, and there can often be a negative spin. When I worked for the government, one of the first things that. The government taught us was how to write things. We actually had to, we took courses in how to write in a way that would spin something as positive and, and how to avoid the pitfalls and that sort of thing. And of course, I. The news, there's a wonderful book by Stephen Pinker. It's thick but William had recommended it and so I read it years ago on his recommendation called The Better Angels of Our Nature by Stephen Pinker, which. Really talks about that collective narrative and how it is formed and how it's not always accurate and, but it is always or it is often spun in a certain direction. And so there are probably a lot of things that you're aware of or that you're hearing about that don't align with you. Right now. And if that's the case I didn't mention to bring a journal that I'm going to invite you to grab something to write with if you can. And I'd like you to just think about what is happening in the world that I'm not happy about that upsets me. And just write down just a short sentence or two. To indicate that. And so we're just gonna take a few minutes. Now, some of you may want longer, you may want to write a page and that's okay. But I just think invite you to think about some of the things that are happening either in your life, in your state, in your province, in your country, in the world. That is, that are upsetting. I think this is just as good for me as for the rest of you, because I'm realizing I have quite a few things that to write down, especially based on my recent political time running for the Green Party. I. If you're still writing, keep doing that. But the message that came through is that the importance of writing those things down and then using Brachy to help us let them go, and we're going to do that in our meditation today. But I'd like to shift your focus, and if you haven't written everything down that's upsetting, it's okay. You can just put an initial or just, even think about it. What the energy has been guiding or what it wanted me to talk about today is now I'd like you to shift your focus and I'd like you to go and have a look at the things that are upsetting you. And if it's something. That is within your control. If it's something that you can do something about, put a check mark beside it. But if it's something that is out of your control, then put an X beside it. Okay? So just go ahead and have a look at what you've chosen, and if it's within your control, put a check mark. If it's out of your control, put an x. Now let's just take a moment to shift our focus to some of the things in our own lives that are within our control. So I must say that's been a good exercise for me because there's two or three things that are upsetting to me that I clearly saw. Wait, I think I can do something about those. But many of things that I find upsetting, they're completely out of my control. There's nothing I can do about them. They got an X and the message here is that they're not worth my time if I can't actually have an impact on them. And so what the energy was encouraging us to do is shift our focus to what's within our control. So admittedly, there were three things on my list that I realized. Three out of 11 things. That I can do something about. And so that's cool. But there's also what I decided to do is I realized that really following politics, and I have to follow it to a certain extent because I'm probably going to run again and I need to be in the loop, but there's no need to spend a tremendous amount of time. It because I am not an elected representative, so there's not an awful lot I can do at the moment. But there are, I can spend time in my own little corner of the world. And so after the election, one of the things that I was shown was maybe I can't bring in funding for. Greener village and the community kitchen and some of the places that look after or help people who are in need. But I can volunteer with those organizations and so I've been able to go and bake bread. And know that those loaves of bread that I'm shaping and that we're baking are going to feed families. And the energy really had me focus on my own farm because I've been so busy with elections and other things that I haven't. Been able to put enough time into my gardens and the landscaping and things like that. And so it's been really fun to get out and dig up my gardens again and make things beautiful and fix fences and, knock down buildings and just do some of those things and we undertook a few renovations in the house. That's something that is in our control and that we could do. So I'd just like you to think about what are some of the things that you can impact that give you joy and write those down. We'll take a few moments there. One of the things I've noticed is. I can spend more time with the horses these days and time riding and working on healthcare Reiki as well, so energetically we're going to shift our focus to those things that are within our control, and also that. Bring us joy. So things that we, and control is maybe not the word. Things we can influence. So we're going to let go of the things that we have no ability to influence, and we're going to focus on the things that we can influence. So let's just. Think about summer for a moment going into in the Northern Hemisphere that just, this is such a time of extroverted activities, celebration, and it's also a bit of a transition from that routine into more relaxation because even though we still work in the summer, the expectations aren't the same. And there, there really is we are able to relax and here where I live anyway, we have such long days. It's so funny because even people who come from New England when they visit us and see that. In Atlantic Canada, that it's not dark at 10 o'clock at night. It's so surprising. And so this is just a real time for joy, connection, vibrancy. And it's a time for us to be more relaxed, more adventurous. And to, and any of the, any folks who are still tied to the school year. I've always thought January 1st shouldn't be the beginning of the year. It should be September 1st. That's really when everything kind of kicks into gear. But I. We're, we know that we're headed into this. And today it began with a really beautiful day. We've got barn swallows out here that are doing their work. They're making a big difference in the insect population. The horses are enjoying the green grass and and life is good. So what are some of the things we can do just. In our regular routine because it is important. One of the things that sometimes gets off the table in summer is self-care. So it is important to be a little bit more intentional about self-care because we're often, there are a lot of, we've got. Birthday parties and graduation parties and there's, and just getting together with friends. So there is a lot of that. And so just the importance of self care. So one of the things we can do is just be sure to start our mornings with our self Reiki. Just start the day with energy and focus. And it doesn't have to be a long session. Just a couple of ideas that for our self session, you can do. All of the hand positions, but I know personally, I rarely have time to do all of the hand positions. So I just think of one or two or three positions that I want to spend time in. Or I even start just with a Gassho meditation and maybe just one hand position or as many as I can fit in each day. And I always go to bed. W with doing a self Reiki as well, so that I do wake up energized and able to focus. But something else you may want to do is send Reiki ahead to all of your summer plans, like your trips, your celebrations, any creative projects that. You're planning, send Reiki ahead. And one thing that we all find is that sometimes summer can be too short to fit everything in. And one of the things Reiki can do for us is it almost even stretches time sometimes, or it really does help organize our schedules. So make sure you send Reiki ahead to your calendar, your plans, any trips, any celebrations. And you can also, if you have any extroverted activity with family and friends especially if you're an introvert like me just you can use Reiki to send ahead to those activities and also to set some intentions like, I wanna make sure that I have a really nice time and I wanna make sure I have time talking to this person or. Or whatever, and so you can use Reiki there as well. The energy of summer is so dynamic and so extroverted, and it can go so fast that Reiki can help us stay grounded and present. Some of us are also going to be in transition mode, especially if you have young children, so you're coming onto the end of the school year, or you might be shifting into vacation mode and it's odd, but even positive things like that when you do. Have those shifts, they can be tricky or maybe the grandkids are off and you're going to be able to spend more time with them or nieces and nephews. And so Reiki can just help with those transitions. You can, again, you can send. Use the distance symbol and send to the transition ahead of time. And Reiki can help with that. And it can also if you've had a busy day, you can use self Reiki to just. Relax and recharge. You can do breathing exercises with Reiki, even just imagining breathing in a symbol and letting it travel through your body and your bloodstream. And it can really help you remain calm, even in the midst of excitement. And it can be really lovely to marry those two energies together, excitement and grounded calmness. And so we are going to do a meditation now just stepping into summer with Reiki, and then we'll come back and wrap up. So I'd just like you to go ahead and make yourselves comfortable. Take a deep breath. As we use Reiki to connect with the vibrant energy of summer, align with our goals, align with what we can influence and let go of any worries or any chaos that we're unable to influence. And as we do this, we're also. Going to embrace the joy of the season. So with your eyes closed, breathing deeply, breathing, Reiki in on your breath as it flows into your body, into your bloodstream, and as you let your breath out, just imagine. Anything that's connecting you with chaos or concern, anything that's connecting you with those energies that you can't influence? Any upset, any frustration, any anger, any fear. Let all of these release on your outbreath, and we're just gonna breathe here for about 12 breaths. Breathing, re in, and as we breathe out, just releasing our attachment to those things that we cannot influence. Now with your awareness remaining on your breath. With each inhale, feel yourself grounding into the earth, steady and supported. And with each exhale now, I invite you to release a. Any tension or stress from the school year, from work, from routines, and we'll take 12 breaths together here. Now just imagine roots growing from your body into the earth, moving all the way down to the groundwater, and the bedrock beneath the groundwater, anchoring you in stability and peace regardless of what's happening around you. Healthcare, Reiki energy amplifies this effect and feel the earth's nurturing energy, the divine energy of the earth rising through these roots and just filling you now with calm and peace and balance. Now I invite you to focus on that second list. A list of things that you can influence, and we're going to bring that peace and calm and balance and stability into all of the items on that list, however many there are. And we're going to send Reiki using the distance symbol to all of the things on the list that you can influence. We invite the energy of Reiki to empower those things and empower you to accomplish or achieve them, to influence them. In a way that's very effortless and positive, and we'll take 12 breaths together as the Reiki energy spreads out from you into these areas of your life that you can influence and empowers them, stabilizes them, and grounds them. Into your daily life. Going to embrace the energy of summer. I invite you to imagine that Reiki and the warm summer sunlight both surround you now. Just filling you with vitality and lightheartedness, playfulness, and childlike wonder with every breath, just allow these energies to infuse your entire being melting away any remaining heaviness, inviting, joy, inviting, playfulness, inviting. The magic of childlike wonder, and you may wish to say to yourself, I embrace the energy of summer. I welcome joy, connection, and adventure, and we'll take 12 breaths here together. Spring to mind, one or more intentions that you have for the summer season. Maybe it's spending quality time with loved ones. Maybe it's pursuing a creative project. Maybe it's just allowing yourself the luxury, the space to relax and recharge. Whatever it is, imagine those intentions are glowing orbs of light in your hands. I invite you to infuse these glowing orbs of light with Reiki energy, watching them become brighter, more vibrant, more alive. And then simply imagine yourself placing these orbs in your heart, trusting that they'll grow and manifest effortlessly. If you wish, you can go to your list or this may be a different list, and we'll breathe here together for 12 breaths. I invite you to think about some of your favorite. Summer activities, the things that really bring you joy. Maybe it's walking on a beach, maybe it's catching up with friends. Maybe it's climbing a mountain, exploring new places, new adventures. Just invite the Reiki energy that surrounds us to flow into these moments. Amplifying their beauty and connection, and you may even wish to repeat to yourself. I infuse my summer with joy, gratitude and love, and we'll breathe together here for six breaths. Now I invite you to bring your awareness back to the present moment in time. Bringing your attention to your eyes. Take a deep breath, slowly open your eyes and come back and take a moment to say thank you to you for taking time out for this practice, for embracing the energy of summer and. I just heard a thunder roar as I said this. I love thunder and lightning storms. I feel that they really change the energy and they bring lightness, and so I invite you to carry this sense of lightness and joy and enthusiasm with you for the rest of the season.
