Reiki and Psychic Development

[00:00:00]

Pam: On this week's podcast, I am speaking with Licensed Reiki Master [00:01:00] Teacher, Juliana Davis, also known as Jules. Jules is a highly qualified, psychic, medium, Usui and Karuna Reiki® Master, a Master Crystal Healer, Sound Healer, Medical Intuitive, Spiritual teacher and the owner of Auralux in Los Angeles. You might've seen her work featured on buzz feed, E, The Platinum Life, Super Deluxe, Mixed Makeup, LATV or Sunset Magazine. Welcome Jules.

Jules: Glad to be here.

Pam: Thank you. Before we begin, I'd just like to let you know about some of the things we have coming up at the farm. Next week, we have a Licensed Reiki Level One and Two class, a Master Class, and the following week, a Karuna Reiki master class. In August in an Australian friendly times zone, which means evenings in North America and [00:02:00] mornings in Australia, I have an Animal Reiki Level One and Two Practitioner course and Animal Reiki Master Class, and an Animal Communication class. So hop on over to our website. We'd love to have you join us if any of those speak to you. We also have our Reiki Master Mentor, our third and probably final session is coming up beginning in July and we welcome your participation. You don't need to have participated in previous sessions in order to join us for that. Jules, so what do you have on your calendar coming up?

Jules: Let's see, what don't I have? Just kidding. I have all levels of Reiki training including Karuna, a Reiki Master training. In the fall, I'll be starting again with a 12 weeks Psychic and Mediumistic Development course, as well as more Crystal Healing Courses. [00:03:00] And I'm also going to be starting a 10 month advanced Energy Healing Training Program.

Pam: Wow. And my classes are online. Are yours also online Jules?

Jules: Yeah, all of my classes are available online and some of them are also available in person.

Pam: Okay, wonderful. Are they a combination or there are they typically one or the other?

Jules: All of my Reiki classes are a hybrid of in-person students with online students at the moment. Crystal healing is either online or in person and  the longer development programs are online only.

Fantastic. Thank you. Yeah. Before we get into our talk today,  I'd like to invite everyone in a brief invocation. Bring your hands together in Gassho, and activate your Reiki, symbols.

And today we're going to be talking about intuition [00:04:00] and the difference between a psychic and a medium,

and we're also going to be looking at your intuition and how it works for you. And learning from Jules' experience in this field,

everyone has intuition, although it looks different for everyone. Some people hear energy, some people see it, some people feel it. Some people just have a knowing around it.  Some can even smell and taste energy. Some people's intuition works through their imagination, particularly creative people. And some people, it works through our thoughts. In whatever way your intuition works with you, Reiki tends to help us develop [00:05:00] our intuition and it tends to provide guidance to us through that intuition. Sometimes it can be confusing at first to open to your intuition or to begin to understand it. And so we hope that the information that we have for you today is going to be helpful to you so that you might be more comfortable and begin to learn a bit better, how your intuition works for you.

And if there is any fear around accessing or utilizing your intuition, we invite it to release. Now we're living in an age of spiritual and religious freedom. [00:06:00] An age of inner authority, where we are free to be who we are and express ourselves openly. And we welcome that

and we welcome you to open, to access your intuition more freely.  Is there anything you'd like to add Jules?

I just feel like calling in their beings to be around them during this podcast. And maybe that would help them to start developing that connection or deepening that connection more.

Pam: We invite our enlightened beings to join us here today as we open our ears to hear, our mind and our hearts.

Aho Mitákuye Oyás'iŋ, Namaste and Amen.

Jules, can you tell me a little bit about your Reiki journey [00:07:00] and also about your journey as a psychic and a medium and how the three things have begun to intertwine in your life?

Jules: Yeah, sure. I was in a really bad car accident in 2010 and I had severe spinal injuries and I was looking for ways to heal my body and through that process of healing and searching and seeking and being in pain, I rediscovered Reiki. I had experiences with Reiki probably about 10 years before that. And I thought I know that this helps with pain and emotional stuff. So I started receiving some Reiki treatments before I had a major surgery. I had a three level artificial disc replacement surgery.

[00:08:00] Pam: Wow.

Jules: Yeah, and I went over to Spain, actually for the surgery because they were more advanced with the technology in Europe at the time, the kind of implants that they are giving. And so before I received the surgery, I received Reiki. And then after I received the surgery, I happened to come upon, no accident, some Reiki practitioners in Barcelona, where I had received the surgery and received Reiki pretty immediately after the surgery and received multiple treatments over there, came back, received more and healed very well from that surgery. And I was scheduled to have another surgery on my lumbar spine cause I was pretty messed up from head to toe at the time. And I thought intuitively I just felt like Reiki was going to help me with that.  I had spinal cord compression in my cervical spine. So I knew they had to [00:09:00] physically go in there and decompress that. But on my lumbar spine, I did have some herniations and things that showed up on MRIs, but yeah, just intuitively felt like the energy healing might work. And eventually it did. It took me a little bit of time to get there, but it did through the process of actually me deciding to train and take Reiki courses and learn how to heal myself and that's how I started with Reiki.

I actually started with psychic development before I ever took my first Reiki training. And that's because I was having a lot of experiences and dreams. I had a lot of dreams.  Pre-cognitive dreams, things that were going to happen. I had a lot of dreams about spirit world or experiences, late at night with the spirit world. To where I was a little bit startled or confused, or, definitely afraid of what was happening at night.

[00:10:00] And it's just a more receptive time. So they were always trying to communicate with me when I was in this quiet space, going to sleep. And I looked for years for mediumship development and could not find anything here in LA. And I found some intuitive development classes, so I started taking those.

So I started with the intuitive stuff before Reiki, but it really opened up once I brought them together, I feel, and start to really understand stuff a lot more, or yeah.  And then, eventually found mediumship teachers and trained quite extensively and intensively for years. After I found them, I was very excited to finally be playing with that and understanding it.

So I'm like an avid student. I'll just, I want to learn everything. So I'll be taking classes for the rest of my life because I like to learn.

Pam: I understand that completely. [00:11:00]  I do, I understand a lot of that. I didn't know about your car accident.  I  also had pre-cognitive dreams when I was a child and could see the energies at night as you're trying to go to sleep.

So that sounds very familiar to me and like you, and I think I'm a bit older than you are Jules, there was nothing around to help you with that. And so I think a lot of us are confused or maybe frightened. And I think a lot of us, I know, I shut my abilities down.  I actually became sick afterward because it takes so much effort to be who you're not, I think. Yeah. So I'm really happy that you found those courses and you noticed that Reiki opened the both up even more. There's a difference though, between being a psychic and being a medium, even though I think a lot of us see the word psychic medium put together as one word. Can you explain the difference there?

Jules: Yeah. Just like [00:12:00] you said, at the beginning of your podcast here, everybody is intuitive. We have an intuition, we can tap into those, our gut feelings or instincts about things. And I believe everybody can, work on those skills and develop them if they want to.

Some people are just naturally more sensitive from the get-go or maybe just listening a little bit more, more open. And, so I would say we all have psychic abilities. That's those different faculties that you mentioned where we can see, hear feel, know, taste, smell even some other things and connect.

Yeah. And so psychic is working with all of those different abilities or whatever abilities they have that are stronger. Some people work with all of them and they're connecting with people here in the physical world. So physical locations. People like you and I that are very much alive in a physical body, animals, we can also [00:13:00] communicate with.

And that's a soul to soul connection with an incarnate soul. We call in somebody who's still living, breathing here in a physical body right here in the material world. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And, you can be a psychic without having the ability to connect deeply with the spirit world. Although I do feel everybody has the ability to feel the presence of spirit.

So a medium also has this ability where they can communicate with, we call the other world or the spirit world or a non-physical world, spiritual beings that exist. That could be our loved ones  and spirit guides, spiritual energies, beings that exist in a non-physical form. People who, so there will be those beings who have transitioned.

Yeah. Yeah. And some of them, I don't know if they've ever touched the earth. Spiritual beings that maybe have always existed in the spirit world or in the spirit form that may be like teachers or I don't know [00:14:00] that could be a whole existential conversation,

but yeah. I feel all the discarnate souls, but I find that a strange word, which I say it is a bit of a strange word. Isn't it? I was just repeating the word discarnate souls because I hadn't heard it before. Yeah. Incarnate, meaning we've been incarnated into a physical body. Discarnate meaning we've left the physical. I guess I've studied with a lot of spiritualist teachers in the United Kingdom. So some of my languaging is definitely influenced by them. Okay. Amazing teachers. Yeah.

Pam: And you find that, although some people do tend to come to it more naturally, this is something that anyone can learn. What would they say?

Jules: You have to be a great psychic to be a medium. Okay. But that not everybody is a medium. And like I said, I feel that everybody has the ability to sense spirit. Just like they have the ability to increase their [00:15:00] intuition or have an intuition, but the communication that takes place, that's a special skill I feel.  A medium is the, in between person between the two worlds. So the physical and the non-physical world and we're that person that's communicating with both, essentially.

Pam: Yeah, sometimes I go there, but I find I don't go there a lot. I'm constantly listening to Reiki and I'm constantly listening to my guides and those from the third heaven, I just don't necessarily take advice from deceased loved ones, because I always feel  that they're not always privy to the larger picture. I don't know what you feel about that.

Jules: Yeah, I don't know. There's definitely just like humans evolve here in the physical world, I believe. They evolve in the spiritual world as well. And there's definitely a lot of, for me, mediumship is another kind of healing modality. Yes. Because so much healing can take place between the two. So it might just affect us on another level, but [00:16:00] I've been pretty interested in trans mediumship where I sit and I let the spirit world speak through me. And those are, usually from guides that I work with, not necessarily people's loved ones, although it can be, and the words of wisdom that come through, or blow me away.

Whoa, I said that and then listen to the recording later. So I feel there's beings on all levels of development and evolvement in the spirit world, just like  there are beings in all levels and all heavens working here in our physical world. Not sure if that answers your question, but

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. And I, as soon as I said it, I realized, wait, I use it all the time. I just don't necessarily talk with deceased, loved ones that often.  However I do find that I will speak with deceased loved ones if it brings about healing, I've just never really been interested in using [00:17:00] my abilities for kicks and giggles.

I guess that's a better way to put it because as I think about it,  you said, "whoa, I said that?" I say that all the time  in my writing I'll read things that I wrote and  I literally won't remember writing it. I won't recognize it. I'll think "this is pretty good," but it truly Jules, it doesn't come from me. So...

I believe it.  I'll just add that  we work with spirit by doing Reiki. Reiki is spiritual healing. That's coming from spirit.

Pam: I was just laughing at myself cause I was saying I don't use mediumship very much and that's absolutely not true.

Jules: Spirits available in lots of different, we can connect in so many different ways. So in the spiritualist community, they call it spiritual healing where they're channeling spirit energy in order to do healing, we just do Reiki. So it's just another form of energy healing. Using spirit energy. So yeah, I love sometimes we're not aware.

Pam: Clearly.  Clearly [00:18:00] we're not sometimes.

Jules: I did an interview thing with Karen CAG recently and she said "I'm not a medium, but I was doing a Reiki session on somebody and I was aware of her father." And I was like Karen, it sounds like you're a medium to me as you're feeling that energy that's there. Reiki really just opens you up because you're in such a passive state when you're channeling this energy. Or you should be in a very receptive space where the energy can just flow through you. And because you're so open, I find that's why people's, energy really opens up and they start to be very sensitive, psychically or intuitively whichever word you want to use. And also mediumistically things can really open up for people who maybe didn't realize they had that ability and suddenly it's there for them.

Because they're opening up in new ways. It's a blending of energy that takes place where you're expanding your auric field and then [00:19:00] just a bit receiving, allowing things to take place in that sense. People might become more sensitive with Reiki. I've seen that happen a lot.

Pam: I have seen it happen a lot to Jules. Though, I have noticed that sometimes it frightens people. And what do you want to let them know if they start to experience this increased intuition, if they start to be aware of things on the other side and it frightens them, what would you say to them?

Jules: I've been there.

Pam: Yeah, me too.

Jules: I think that part of the reason why it was an insomniac for so many years, I could not sleep until the sun came up was because of all these experiences I was having. I also worked in a bar. So I brought home a lot of energy with me at night and didn't have the tools at the time to, cleanse myself. Between the music industry and the bar industry, I was, around all sorts of interesting energy for years without any tools. So for me, one thing is that we've grown up in this [00:20:00] culture where spirit is scary. We got all these horror films telling us that it's dangerous and scary. And in fact to me, it's absolutely beautiful. And some of the most wonderful expressions of unconditional love come through spirit. And I wish that was better portrayed in our movies, but it was scary as scary is fun too. So that's one thing is just get out of your head. What they've been selling to us. They've been marketing to us a bad rep. Spirit needs a new PR rep. So get that out of your head. That it's scary. It is scary because it's an unknown, it's an untangible. We have these feelings that are coming through that might not belong to us. But also getting better tools, so if people have Reiki, can, expand your light or visualize like coming in. Even, if you don't have Reiki, there's some great tools you can use to cleanse your energy field so that you're not constantly [00:21:00] picking stuff up. But the most important thing is to learn that it's okay to have boundaries.

Pam: Yes.

Jules: That was a process of learning for me is that I didn't have to be open all of the time receiving all of this stuff. And so understanding that I can give permission when I open up to connect and then tone it down. And then there's times where I'm in between. If I'm working with a lot of clients, I'm already open, it's just, they're flowing, but I don't want to be, walking through the supermarket and seeing everybody's loved ones. And that's just not what I want to experience or being out in a crowd or whatever. There was a time when I really had to like, stay out of public because I just was feeling and experiencing stuffs at such a heightened level that it was uncomfortable for me.

So actually learning how to have these healthy boundaries so that you can be around people. So that you can interact with the spirit world if you want to, or just psychically with people, but in a contained environment. I look at it as like a volume knob where if I [00:22:00] want to receive I'll turn it up. And if I don't want to I'll turn it down. It's never fully off because I want my intuition to be awake enough that if I need something, there's an emergency kind of situation or whatever that it's there to help me, but I just don't want it at a loud volume all of the time. So boundaries are really important.

The other thing is that you can communicate and say, "Hey, this is happening a little too quickly to me." Yeah. "Slow it down a little bit." Or "you're scaring me when you come into my room at night like that. So if you could communicate with me in a different way..." Work on that together. It's amazing that this conversation can actually take place and that we can change the way that there is an interaction. Cause sometimes I think for those who are budding mediums or having spirit experiences, spirits just so excited that they can communicate with you that they're like, Hey, we're here. We want to work with you. And you're like, oh my God, what is happening?

[00:23:00] Pam: And it can be overwhelming. Can't it?

Jules: Yeah. Totally.  It scared the pants off of me for years. I'm telling you like way into my twenties, when I was a little girl, I would sleep under a mountain of stuffed animals. I was so scared at night. It's lasted,  until well into my adult life, into my late twenties. I think after my mom passed away, that was when I was 27. And a lot of my abilities started to increase after she passed.

And I started to have different kinds of experiences with spirit after that. And that's when it just, it really turned on and up, but I also started to really understand it and I got less afraid if that makes sense.

Pam: Oh my gosh. So much of what you said makes so much sense to me. I was scared of the dark well into my forties because of all the [00:24:00] that I used to see at night  and when I did Reiki, I kept repeatingly  getting the message to open up my intuition and I firmly had it closed. And I do remember when I received my masters attunement in Stonehenge. I said, you know what, I'm finally fine. I'm going to open to my intuition. But by then I knew a little bit more and I asked Reiki to manage it for me so that it would come in at a rate that I could handle. And that made such a big difference. And I also received a gift just before that. I was in a horse course, and it wasn't very politely given, but it was a really big gift. One of the women in the class was a psychic and she looked at me and screamed in front of the other participants at one point, "get out of my [00:25:00] head. I know you're psychic, but just because you are, and you can be in my head, doesn't mean you should be." And that was a revelation to me. I didn't know that this thing could be turned off Jules. I was devastated, but as soon as I got over the embarrassment and the horror being sworn at and screamed at, in front of a small group of people I realized what a gift she had given me. Cause there was no training at that time. And that was when I realized, "oh, I can turn this on and off. There's an on switch and an off switch. I don't have to be walking around wide open all the time.  What a gift that was.

Jules: Yeah.  Empowering. I have control.  To some degree anyways. What is control?

Pam: I love the boundaries [00:26:00] because I know of some of my students who really have a lot of  discarnate souls around them at all times. And I know that the Reiki energy just came in and said "set boundaries, tell them that you're going to talk to them Tuesday and Thursday from two to four, otherwise bugger off, I'm not talking to you." And so that was interesting too.

Speaking of training and the fact that it wasn't available as I was trying to become used to my gifts and figure them out. It makes me so happy that people like you, who've got a lot of experience and those who are constantly studying it and working to learn more and who've become very comfortable with it are offering classes. So tell me a little bit about your sessions and a little bit about your classes, if you would.

Jules: Sure. So [00:27:00] my sessions, I do either one to one or small group, or I do large group demonstrations of mediumship as well. And either it's psychic or mediumship or a hybrid of both. And those are just, tailored for the individuals. So what we talk about is specific to what their need is. I've been trained  at a very high standard, I will say. So when people come into me for a reading, I don't ask what do you want to talk about today? I actually just connect with them and start telling them what's going on in their life and blending with their energy and telling them like, a psychic reading. This is where I'm drawn. We're going to talk about this and this. And this is what's going on with those things. And they talk very little in our readings because I want to stay in that intuitive flow. So if somebody starts telling me a whole bunch of stuff, then I'm in my mind trying to discern it with my logical mind instead of my intuition.

So that's the [00:28:00] process when I'm working with spirit, the same thing, I don't usually ask people who they want to hear from. I let the spirit world dictate that. And so we'll just sit together and then I'm aware of spirit or spirits that are there. And I start communicating with them and telling them, I'm in this kind of sense, I'm, what's called an evidential medium, where I'm like bringing forward evidence of people's loved ones. And so it should be things that are verifiable that people could recognize and whatever needs to take place between that communication will take place in that time. And then For my classes, I like to really just stretch people and give them a lot of exercises to do, to open up, really.

Our imagination is important with our intuition  and also our knowledge of physical world stuff. So for example,  I'm like a researcher anyways, but I started researching, how can I heal my body? How can I heal this or that? And [00:29:00] because of that, I started to develop this amazing vocabulary on anatomy and understanding of the human body.

Pam: Who would a typical client be for you Jules? What type of thing are they looking for?

Jules: I mean, anybody and everybody. And there's plenty of times where I need a psychic reading myself. And anybody, and everybody is open to it. I have celebrity clients and all sorts of different people because I feel at times we just need a little guidance or clarity from somebody who's not part of our world who might be able to see things.

More clearly, or just validate things that are happening for us that have no, alternative agenda or bias or anything, naturally. So really anybody and everybody. So it's really wide mix. There's not.

Pam: Okay. It's not necessarily people who've lost loved ones or anything along those lines. It's just [00:30:00] people looking for guidance.

Jules: Yeah, of course for mediumship people who've lost, loved ones are going to be more interested in getting a reading, but I feel like the spirit world you'd be surprised, the things that could come through that are unexpected from mediumship. Sometimes it's just to have a few minutes of spending time with somebody who's transitioned that in itself can be healing or heartwarming or positive, bring some positivity into our lives.

So there's a need. And then there's just people that come in with a need. I need to hear from my loved one. There's a lot of grief there or something, or there's need for healing. And then there's just these wonderful, like uplifting, let's spend some time together sessions that happen too.

Pam: Yeah. That's beautiful. Tell me a little bit about your classes. Jules is and who a typical student would be for you.

Jules: So the classes, it's the same thing with the students. There's people that learn are [00:31:00] interested in learning just to use in their everyday life to develop and hone their intuition more. And then there's people that are interested in expanding to potentially do this in a professional way or expand their professional practice by developing deeper. So I have, compiled a lot of different exercises and sometimes I just let spirit dictate what we're going to do. A new exercise might come in and all of those exercises are designed to help people develop and expand their connection imagination. The more we're open and willing to see all of the different shades and colors of personalities in the world, the complexities of life, I believe the better psychic and medium we can be because we have an open palette, if that makes sense. So if we've had a very narrow view on life, we might not be able to connect to people who've had a [00:32:00] different experience than us because they just wouldn't understand it. So you don't have to have the experience that everybody's had, but at least being open to it. So I like to stretch people by doing these different exercises and learning how to connect with somebody's personality and understand the complexities of who they are.

Learning to work with color and see the chakras and the auric field, and how to understand what it's telling you. Learning how to just sit with somebody and do what I do where, okay, you're not going to tell me anything, but I'm going to tell you what's going on in your day, your life, your week, whatever's happening connecting to the spirit world and being able to deepen that connection.

So you can  bring them to life essentially. I had a wonderful tutor named Chris Drew, in the UK who I studied with extensively over there. And then also here in the US because he would come over here and do courses with us. And his whole thing was really  bringing people back to life essentially. They're still very much alive in spirit, but, telling their story. [00:33:00] Wow. And so it's not just a bunch of random kind of facts and figures about who they are, but like telling their story, who is this person and all the complexities that we experience in life, being open to those kinds of things to come in.

So there's some lecture and there's also a lot of practice because development really requires a lot of practice and developing and meditation is also really important to sitting in the power of the spirit world or the presence of the spirit world and just being in that energy and then saying yes, to working with the energy. And I want to expand my connection. All those things are a vital importance in my opinion, and things that I teach my students.

Pam: I love that your courses sound amazing Jules and I wish they were around when I had been learning. But  I sometimes wonder how, because our program, the licensed Reiki Master Teacher [00:34:00] program, it's over a thousand hours of training, it's not a small feat, there's a lot to it. How do you fit it all in?

Jules: I've learned how to replicate myself.

Pam: I need you to teach me that. Can you do a course on that?

Jules: I need 27 of me right now to do all the things that I want to do. I definitely have been a little overworked, I will say. I'm trying to bring that a little more into balance. Cause I did the first two levels of a licensed teacher program level one, two, and Usui master, I did the requirements in about 10 months. Which is normally  two to three years. So on top of all of the other events and other things that I was doing. So it's been a lot of work, but yeah, I feel like Reiki is guiding the process and saying, we need you here. So [00:35:00] well there's definitely days where I'm like, all right, Reiki, you gotta get me through this day.

And sure enough, I get through it when I'm feeling just too busy.  I've moved, I did a major cleanse. I've done all these things also in the last year that require a lot of attention. And and I'm still here trecking through. So as long as I can find some balance soon, which I intend to in the summer, take some more time in nature. That's always essential for me. And I know you get to live in nature, but those of us in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles just making sure I reconnect and stay grounded through the process. That's important.

Pam: Yeah. That's something that's really, I went through it quickly as well Jules and the energy seemed to have an agenda for me that I just decided to follow, even though I had hoped to go a little slower. Yeah. Yeah.  But  I need that time in nature as well, to just recharge and reconnect. What [00:36:00] advice would you have for someone who wants to open their intuition more  or get to know their intuition a bit better? So many people mistakenly believe that they're not intuitive because maybe their intuition isn't pre cognizant like yours and mine, or it looks and works a little differently for them than it does for other people that they know. So what advice would you have for someone who would be interested in developing themselves intuitively and becoming more psychic and even moving into mediumship? What would you tell them?

Jules: I would say  the first thing is to just listen. Our intuition is working with us all the time. We're not always listening to it. So one is to start listening more. Yeah. And the other is to, like I said, sit in meditation where you're actively connecting with your [00:37:00] higher self or spirit as a whole. And what I mean by that is,  this non-physical world of spiritual energy, you can always intend that you're connecting with the highest heavens or the highest levels of consciousness, making sure that you're up in that vibration when you're doing those kinds of meditations and I highly recommend training with really good teachers, because they're going to push you and stretch you and actively working in that energy is definitely, probably the most important cause it's like a muscle or, working out more or you do it the better you get at it.

And like anything in life and development is like a lifelong process. So you're never going to stop developing, but you might grow out of classes eventually because you're just doing all at that point. But I really think classes are important or being in some kind of a development circle or group where you can be [00:38:00] consistent about your development and practice.

Pam: I think that's really good advice. And I think that it's been my experience that time spent with good teachers is always time well spent because we can learn from our teachers experience. And I know even just looking at my own Reiki students, for instance, they are proceeding through things so much faster than I did because I was learning it all as I went.  I kind of joke and I say in an hour, I just basically saved you nine years. I bet. Because that's how long it took me to learn this. And yeah. Yeah. So that's great advice. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Yeah, train with good teachers. That's always in anything that you do I think that's definitely [00:39:00] a good tip.

Here we go. That's a pro tip.

Jules: Find good teachers, that are experienced or that you feel drawn to. There's no bad teacher cause any, teacher's going to teach you something.

Pam: Sometimes they even teach you what you don't want to do.

Jules: Exactly, that's what I was going to say. Sometimes my teachers have taught me how I don't want to be with my students. And some of my teachers have taught me like, wow, this is amazing. Even just working with Coleen in the last year,

Pam: Yeah, what an amazing gift she is. She was my mentor and yours and I can't believe how lucky we are. How much did I learn from her? And she saved me 25 years,

Jules: I'm sure. Yeah. Just in observing her, being a student in her classes as part of the LRMT program. Her candor, her patience, her just, yeah. The way that she navigates dealing with students that [00:40:00] might take up some extra time or whatever the thing is and how much I've learned just from observing her in those situations has been invaluable. For so many things, she's been invaluable, but that was really a growth spurt that I feel I've had. Not that her students are disrespectful, but you can have some interactions with students that can be a little bit challenging and how to navigate those in a different way really helped me to just, oh, if somebody's turning off their video or not really attentive, like that's their process. I just go on teaching now instead of saying something,

Pam: You're right. She navigates everything with grace and care. So much.  Yeah. Sorry, go ahead. I didn't mean to interrupt you.  No,  it's just she's been a wonderful gift as a mentor as I knew she would be. I was determined to have her as my mentor. I waited extra time so that she could be cause I think [00:41:00] she was still working with you and some other people. And so she didn't have any space in her schedule. And I said, that's okay. I'll wait. You will be my mentor. And I'm so glad that she she said " okay, I will be your mentor." She did have free will, I'm sure

Oh yes, yes, sure, she won't let us dictate that if another, and it's so funny in the mentoring program too, you really get who you need as your mentor. But I'm a little bit like you, when she called me to tell me I was accepted in the program and I didn't realize there were only like five of us accepted per year or else, I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to apply. But when she called me and she said, oh, and by the way, I'm going to be your mentor. I was like, jackpot. I just hit the jackpot.

So I truly understand where you're coming from with that Jules. Listen, is there [00:42:00] anything else you'd like to leave the listeners with before we go into your meditation today?

Jules: Just always keep, you know, listening is what I'm hearing. Just to always keep listening to the Reiki energy. Listening to your intuition and your connection with spirit and also listening for your own self development, self healing. I definitely have had times I'll actually give the gift of Laurelle Gaia. I tell this to my students all the time. The last time I got to be with her, Laurelle was the executive director of the Licensed Teacher Program for many years and fundamental in developing the Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Program and essential part of the International Center for Reiki Training and I had the privilege of having her as one of my teachers along the process.  In 2018, I was in Sedona, just on a personal visit and I met up with her and Michael [00:43:00] for lunch. And we were talking about mediumship, actually. I think some other things I was with another friend of mine who is a medium and this PEARL, I just feel like I have to pass it on to everybody because she told me,

" I was so busy doing all the time. I was doing. I had a headache I took an Excedrin or an aspirin or whatever" she told me "and I would just go on doing, cause I had so much to do and I wasn't listening. And  she said her body was telling her that something was wrong, but she wasn't listening because she didn't have time." And so that is something that I share with all of my Reiki classes and something that I need to hear for myself all the time, because I'm a doer like Laurel and I'm always doing 27 things at once and busy and not always, listening. So now when something is happening, I stop and I listen for it. And if I have to take, a few hours just to take care of myself, I will do [00:44:00] that. Because I know I don't want it to get to the point where it has in the past for me, where I wasn't listening. And it was you know up to a point where it was too loud. Like my accident was a LOUD, like "You're not paying attention. We're gonna, make you listen to us and stop and take care of yourself." That was the silver lining of my accident was so much growth happened for me through that. But also all of this work came out of it. It steered me in this direction and that was a wonderful gift that it gave me.

Pam: That's incredible. And that happens so often Jules, doesn't it. When we have these difficult moments in our lives, we have a choice. We have a choice to go into fear or poor me or whatever, or we can choose to grow from it. And I'm so happy that you chose to grow and to listen. Really? Yeah. One of the things that I've noticed in our Animal Reiki class is there's a huge component around [00:45:00] listening because of course, in order to work effectively with animals and that's both two legged and four legged animals,  one of the most important skills you can have is listening to them. Listening beyond the words, listening underneath the words, listening to the body language, listening to what's going on, outside of the thought process what's going on in the rest of the body or the emotions. And so I love that you're leaving us with that today. Do you want to tell us a little bit about the meditation that you will be leading us on?

Jules: Sure it's a meditation just to sit in the presence of the other world and just expanding. So you can use it in a way to just connect with your higher self for intuition, or if you want to, you can intend that it's connecting you with this other world.

Pam: That's fantastic. Before we do move into the meditation, I'm just going to [00:46:00] ask that if you're driving, I'm going to ask you to hit, pause, or pull over to the side of the road or someplace safe, where you can listen safely. These meditations can sometimes go quite deep and we care about you. So we want you to keep yourself safe and comfortable. Jules, I'm going to turn it over to you and invite you to begin the meditation today.

Jules: All right. Thank you, Pam. You're welcome.

So before I begin the meditation, I would ask you to just set a timer for either 20 or 30 minutes so that you can continue the meditation portion. If you're listening to this separately, you could continue to be in that state of quiet and connection for some time, and then you can come back or you could just stay in the presence for as [00:47:00] long as you like, but sometimes people get a little antsy at first. So if you want to set a timer and just be in this quiet space, I'm going to lead you into a space where you can also just sit and stay for a while.

So this is a meditation in order to expand and shift your awareness and consciousness.

Close your eyes and take a few deep cleansing breaths inhaling in fully and exhaling out fully.

[00:48:00] And then the next few breaths, just try bringing your breath and awareness all the way down to the base of your spine.

Taking longer, deeper and slower breaths.

and if you like you can set an intention just saying that you're open whatever experience you need right now for your highest good

the body begin to [00:49:00] relax

and visualize a bright white light right in the center of your physical body.

as you breathe in to the bright  white light

feel the essence and the energy of that light as it moves upwards and downwards filling the whole of your physical being

[00:50:00] that light continues to expand out into your auric field, the energy that surrounds you.

it expands beyond, filling the room

as far and as wide as you feel, guided to visually expand that light

and feel the lightness now within your body,

[00:51:00] like you're floating into this ocean or this energy that exists.

begin to blend with this power and presence of the other world

and feel yourself being held by

this pure, unconditional love that exists all around you.

Flows within you.

[00:52:00] And as you float and expand your energy into this abyss of love. Be open to receiving it back or receiving guidance or expansion.

Don't force it or control it. Just let it be exactly what it needs to be for you right here in this moment.

[00:53:00] And the spiritual beings of the highest and purest levels of consciousness are all around you.

Guiding you, empowering you.

And helping you to grow and to expand,

develop the highest expression of who you are.

And as you sit, [00:54:00] float in this presence,

allow this love to guide you

and follow its guidance.

And when you're ready, you can gently and slowly come back and bring your awareness into your space.

Move your fingers and toes.

Remember this frequency of love that exists between the two worlds and that pure and high expression of who you are.

Pam: Thank you, Jules. And thank you for being here with us today and thank the listeners. And I invite you if you'd like to stay in [00:55:00] this meditation or in this frequency I invite you to do but thank you for joining us this week. Namaste.
